I just installed 2GB of new Corsair 184 DIMM PC 3200 CL2 XMS Platinum
memory running at 4.8 volts and my computer will not boot now. I took
out 2 GB of Crucial 184 DIMM PC3200 CL3 memory running at 2.7 volts.

I put the Crucial back in but still won't boot. Did I fry my
motherboard? Does voltage matter?

Steve

PC 3200 all runs at the same voltage on the same board,if higher, youre over
clocking the memory.Try power-off,locate the CMOS pin on the board, move the
pin from 1-2 position to 2-3 for 1.5 minutes, then back to 1-2,have the
battery
removed before this.Once battery reinstalled and jumper back to 1-2,start
computer, enter and reset BIOS.Also, most over clocking is done with small
incriments 3-10% not 40% as you tried....

4.8 volts - I don't think so. 2.5 is "standard", most will tolerate up to
about 2.8 if you're trying to overclock.

reset cmos, reenter bios and recheck everything.
