ram upgrade

I am running windows xp on a celeron 810 proccessor and have upgraded rom 192m sdram to 448 expecting a boost in performance but see no difference.Still slow and hardrive noisy on the simplest task.Any ideas ??
 
Your computer is only as fast as the slowest part.
