RAM type identifation request

Hello.

I bought the bottom ram thinking it would replace the top ram. But the slots
were off just a liiiiitle bit.

Please help! What RAM can I get that will replace the top ram. I want to
find 512 to replace this 256MB module that's on top.

I thought it was DDR 400 SDRAM. But when I ordered those, the notches were
off.

Could someone help me with precisely what I need to replace the RAM in the
top of this picture?

You need exactly what you quoted, a DDR400/PC3200 module. I'd go to
kingston.com and enter either your computer model or the motherboard
model and go from there. I've used their memory configurator dozens of
times and had only success.

Go over to,

and let it scan your system.
It should tell you what you need.

It is absolutely essential that any new RAM module(s) be fully
compatible with both the motherboard and/or any other RAM module(s)
already in the system. Additionally, there are sometimes jumper
switches on older motherboards that need to be reset for new RAM
configurations. Consult your motherboard's manual or the manufacturer's
web site for specific instructions and compatibility requirements.

If you cannot lay your hands upon the computer's manual and the
manufacturer doesn't provide a support web site, you can use these
utilities to help determine the correct type of RAM needed:
