RAM troubles and ntfs.sys

Is it possible that a RAM incompatibility (2 slots 512 DDR 400 on a Asus
7V600) crashes WinXP boot with the following message : nfts.sys corrupted or
missing....? I've tried two other slots, from another brand all all works
fine. Thanx France
 
Yes, it's possible. Since using different RAM works, I
think you found your problem.

Windows is very fussy about RAM modules being exactly matching
characteristics. Both the speed and the latency timings (such as CAS-L)
