RAM testing?

I need to test my RAM and found "Memtest86 - A Stand-alone Memory Diagnostic
tool"
http://www.memtest86.com/

on the web.

it just stated..."To build a bootable floppy go the the folder where the
files were extracted and click on the Install icon. The floppy disk will
appear to be unformatted by Windows after the install is complete..."

Unfortunately the instructions on how to use it are not clear whatsoever.

Anybody knows on what to do next with a bootable disc? (do I have to go into
BIOS and change settings there..?)

Or is there a userfriendly software out ther to test my RAM?
advice appreciated.

It's a boot diskette. You need to change you BIOS to boot from your floppy
disk drive (or CD if you made a CD ISO) first - have the disk (or CD if you
made the CD ISO) in there at boot time and allow it to boot from it. Thus
the name "Boot Disk".

Microsoft also has a "memory tester".. They explain the same procedure
there.

memtest - IMHO - is better.

Memtest 86+ finds more errors than the Microsoft test in my experience. I
usually use both.
