What is the consensus on programs such as RAM Turbo, Free RAM and the like
for Win XP? I have read totally conflicting reports on their usefulness. Is
it better to run with or without them, and does running with one of them do
any harm such as creating a drag on the OS?

they are useless. they end up just taking up all the
memory that u r trying to free. the operating system will
take care of this. even if u had a memory manager u would
not be able to tell aa difference when it's running if
things go faster.

PC Magazine has reported these things as a waste of money.

They're all absolutely useless. In fact, none can do what they claim. All
they can do is force the system into premature page aging which is
definitely counter productive. See

of why you don't want any of things on your machine.

It's far better to run without them. All such programs are
counterproductive.
