just a quick question i brought another pc from a m8 its got 2x pc3200 (512) and in my other one i,ve got the same pc3200 (2x256) can i put this ram into the pc 2 take it upto 1.5gb...its got 4 slots (Corsair)and is it worth it if it does...?
 
Yes you can. Yes it is worth it. Put the 512's in the first slots, read the manual to find out which they are.

ain,t got a manual....2x256 is in my first pc

2x512 in my 2nd pc(this ones got 4 slots)512 is in the first 2 slots,but the ram looks different 512 as lights on it and the 256 is pcb...?can i still use this
 
You can usually find a manual to download from the manufacturers website, try googling for one.

If all the memory is the same type, see the stickers on the memory, then they will all work together. It is best to put the better ram in the primary slots. As a newbie you will need to find out which is the primary slots by looking at a manual. You can just put the ram in any of the slots though.

Some laptops will have a limit to what they can see!
