Well, in my ever long quest to ake sure I have every angle covered with this
PC I am building I have tackled the RAM issue, the one part I am clueless
on.

I am wanting performance so I have opted for PC3200 DDR and crucial are
recommending this for the mobo I am getting

http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/PartSpecs.asp?imodule=CT6464Z40B&cat=RAM

I have a few questions on this module though. After reading up on CAS
Latency I was a little concerned that this module was only CL3 but looking
on the recommendations page

http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/lis...oards&mfr=Asus&cat=RAM&model=P4S800&submit=Go

It is the only PC3200 512 stick recommended. Should I really be concerned
about CAS latency or is it a moot point?

Also, it says the module is 5ns - could someone explain this to me? Is this
value good, bad or about mid range?

TIA

Lower is faster. Kingston (www.kingston.com) has PC3200
for the Asus P4S800 board in CAS 2.5.

i dont recall seeing your pc spec, but i`m running an asus a7n8x dlx with
twinmos with the winbond CH-5 controller. can run ddr420 (210fsb) @ 3-3-2-2
(ie, cas = 2)

you probably wont SEE the difference in CL/cas ratings, but 'behind the
scenes' it will probably add 5-10fps onto games.
