Ram Problems

Hi recently got some ram- its the right type but it has given me a few
problems!
I sometimes get shutdown saying i have a driver error, this has never
happened before i have had the ram.
a tec support sight says i have virtual emulator software on my pc when i
have not had any on this installation

Apart from that it has worked fine

Could something be wrong with it?

RAM from different manufacturers, or even from the same manufacturer
but from different production lots, can have internal differences in
the material composition and/or the physical layout of the memory
modules. These differences can affect the strength and/or the timing
of the signals returned from the RAM and Windows XP is sensitive to
these differences.

Try using your computer with
a: just the old RAM installed.
b: just the new RAM installed.

If it works fine under both of these conditions but has problems when
both the old and new RAM are installed together then you are probably
encountering this sort of compatibility issue. Unfortunately there is
no easy cure. Your only options would seem to be to continue using
the computer with either just the old or just the new RAM installed,
or to replace the old RAM with additional module(s) from the same
source as the new RAM.

Good luck
