HI
Because my computer was kind of slow (Dell laptop 810 with
a 1.1 MHz Processor) I happended to look at the
performance from task manager and nothing running that I
know of, it shows 160K as memory usage, kind of big out of
the original 256K of RAM. I disabled Norton, screen
background, anything I can from the taskbar, ran scandisk,
defragment the drive: still the same.
Any explanation, recommendation?

You're right. 1.1 MHz would be really slow. And if you were using only
160K of RAM, that would be amazing. Okay, that's enough of the busting on
you for mixing up GHz and MHz and KB and MB.

Many programs do not free up the memory that they were using when they are
closed. The only thing you can do to avoid this is run applications that
are written well, in my opinion. But, really, 160MB isn't bad.

If you are using "Web" folders and "Active Desktop" you can make the PC
sluggish. So turning the "cutesy" stuff off would help a lot. My 700MHz
PC with that stuff off is as responsive as a 2.0Ghz PC with it on.
Looking in Taskmanger you can see what is using memory and CPU time.
