I use a AMD K6 (2) machine with 64 megs of RAM, so its a bit slow but works
perfect
when I boot into Win 2k from dual boot setup, the other being Win98.

Recently I came across a utiliy called Dr. Salmans Utilities or something
(will post exact
infor on software so everyone can use it) which has a tool called RAM
MAGNIFIER,
at first it was just another "high-hopes" tool but then I was amazed how
fast my apps on
Windows 98 worked, all my music software were works like angels.

However, can't use it on Windows 2000. Anyone knows any alternatives that
does same?
As said will post this tools site of origin and how it works ASAP.

Thanks.

That might be something you're interested in reading. Upgrading the RAM
(www.pricewatch.com is a good site) is cheap and easy. RAM optimization is
nothing but smoke and mirrors and normally does more harm and even under the
best of circumstances doesn't really do any good. Here's a funny thing, well
to me, that someone put far better than I would. Basically, and it's very
accurate, any RAM not in use is being wasted. If you're not up, in other
words, in the 90% area of usage with your RAM than you're wasting it. On a 2
GB system that I use as my main box I seldom can get it to climb above 70%
even when I'm compiling. Windows 2k will be a screaming demon with 512 MB
and 98 will run like a cat with it's... Well... It will run nice and
quickly.

Now, off-topic, congrats on the AMD K6 2... 350, 400, or 500? Those were
some intense systems at that time. With a decent motherboard you could (and
no don't DO this) pretty much bake them and get them to benchmark up in the
PIII class 1 GHz range. You could actually get them a bit faster - I used
the 350s for this - with more cooling but they started to get pretty fussy
when they hit about 165° f or so.
