I have a machine with 4 gig of ram, but it only shows just over 3. Is there
any way of configuring vista to show and make use of the full 4 gig? RogerC

Vista x86?
If yes, then NO.

Hi,

Using 32-bit, no. It's a limitation of the number of assignable addresses.
You would need to be running x64 in order to see it all. This doesn't mean
it's not being used.

That is symptomatic of a 32 bit operating system on 32 bit hardware.

The OS can use the 4GB, but the user only has access to 3.x GB depending on
how the BIOS is configured.
