On a P4P800 with WinXP and all updates, with the most
recent VIA drivers, starting the execution of raid_tool.exe
gives the following error messages:

!!! QueryDosDevice failed.
The data area passed to a system call is too small."

followed by

raid_tool.exe - Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142).
Click ok to terminate the application.

Has anybody been able to run raid_tool successfully under
WinXP?
Do I have to define a raid 1 array in the bios prior to
running raid_tool? (From the documentation on the Asus CDROM
this should not be necessary.)

Thanks for your assistance,
-fritz

I just got this same error after updating to the 1.20 driver. The update
includes a via 1.2 bios update but doesn't explain how to update the via
bios which is what I think our problem is.

Do you mean, that prior to the installation of the 1.20 drivers
you could run raid_tool without any problems?
should I go back to the older drivers?
