Hello,

Is it possible to replace a disk in a RAID-5 system composed of 10k speed
disks with a different speed disk (i.e. 15k) or it's not an option ? Thanks!

I know of many RAID engines that don't care about mixing disk drive
makes and models, as long as the size >= usable blocks of smallest
disk in your current RAID5 set.

This, of course, is no guarantee that your particular RAID controller
doesn't care either.

Contact the manufacturer and ask them!

Ok, thanks, I will risk no, the data is too important, and I'm nearly sure
about the answer from the manufacturer ;), that's why I asked here, the
controller is Compaq SmarArray 3200 btw.

No problem logically as long as the new disk is larger or the same
size (in sectors!). Unless the system is not specified for
general disks but needs specific ones. You might see performance
problems, but your data should be fine.

You also need to consider heat, power consumption and
maybe vibration/noise.
