Raid strip size and cluster size guide?

I would stick w/ the default for your controller, or go down one level
only. Most I've seen default at 128K, in your case you could go to 64K
since you do not ever work w/ very large files (128K would still be fine
tho).

_IF_ you did a lot of very large file manipulation (videos) you should
stick w/ the default, or even go larger.

Going down to a smaller size is counter productive (tho benchmark scores
_WILL_ go up - but benchmarks are NOT real world tests).

Do not worry about cluster size, just leave it (4K is default). Trying to
match stripe size to cluster size is an old wives tale.

Intel had a white paper on this subject when they released the ICH5 w/
built-in raid capability, and there are others out there too. Google for
'em. Most agree, smaller stripes do not improve performance in real-world
situations, they actually increase overhead.
