Hi, I hoppe you guys can help me (or point me in the right direction)...

I just bought a Promise FastTrak100 TX2 RAID controller and I am having
trouble getting it to work on my system.

System:
Tyan Tiger MPX S2466N-4M (BIOS v4.06)
2 x Athlon MP 2600+
2 x WD 80Gb drives
1Gb RAM
DVD and DVDRW drives

The card is not getting recognized by the computer at all. I have tried
moving it around different PCI slots but no luck. Basically the system
appears to have no clue the card is even there.

Any help/hints would be much appreciated!

Hi,

I had a similar problem. I have the same board with 2 MP 2200+s and a
Skymaster ATA 133 RAID card with two WD 80GB drives. I didn't have a
problem with the BIOS recognising the card, although I seem to
remember having to look up the a table of IRQ settings in the manual
and change the other cards around. I've had some problems in the past
with installing PCI cards on this board; I also had trouble with a 56k
modem at one stage, but solved it by moving the other PCI cards to
different slots. I think it was competing with some other device for
bus speed.

One of the best places to search for info on the Tyan s2466 is
http://www.2cpu.com/
There's a whole thread in the forum dedicated to this board and
compatibilities of certain cards.

Let me know how you go, because I actually had some problems relating
to Win XP recognising the RAID drives. I ended up removing the RAID
card because I wanted a dual boot system and XP pro wouldn't play
ball.

Cheers,

Ratched
