I'm currently review hardware specs for a new server we need to purchase for
an application server. I undersatnd Raid 1 is mirroring of drives, Raid 5 is
stripped set for reduency where if you loose a disk you can still operate.
Here's where I get a little confussed. RAID 0 basically splits the
information across the disks but is not redundent. I'm assuming this would
increase performace because one disk wouldn't be constantlydoing all the work.

What is Raid 0+1

The requirments from the vendor s RAID 0 woth 3-5 drives or RAID 0+1.
