"Due to a port error" (as the SATARaid-Tool from SiliconImage reports), one
of my two RAID drives gets dropped frequently. Usually, my system crashes at
some point. Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't work any more and I have to push the reset
button. When booting, I get a warning that the RAID set is not complete. The
disk then starts rebuilding. When it's done, it's only a matter of time
until it happens again.
I'm using two SAMSUNG SpinPoint SP1614C drives on a KX18D ProII mainboard
(Albatron). BIOS and RAID drivers are up to date.
Any suggestions what could be causing these problems?
I guess that the drive is simply defect, or what could "port error" mean? At
least I checked all the cables.
Thanks
