Depends whether the controler utility software has any specific procedures
to 'break' the mirror, and or use a single hd via the raid controler.
With some mirror raid controlers you simply disconect one hd and reboot,
then shutdown and connect the 'other' hd to a different connector.
With others you break the mirror via the utility, which will enable you to
use the 'other' hd as you want. ie both will be connected to the controller
but not in mirror config.
It all depends entirely on your raid controller, or possibly whether you
have any other controllers available.
