Hi,

Just a month every thing work on my computer for the past 1 year. But for
some time I noticed that my CD is not reading the the CDs. I run the windows
updates but I don't konw exactly when updates really happend and if they
could affect anything. Any way, on under the Device Manager I see that that
under the "Other devices" unknown hardware and the devices not installed. It
is Ethernet Controller and Raid Controller. When remove them and reboot
Windows says that it cannot install new hardawre because it cannot find the
necessary software.

My internet connection works fine so I don't know why ethernet controller
cannot be installed. But I don't worry about it.
However, my CD Rom is not working. It is not reading the cd and it says that
there are no media in the cd pocket.
I can see sometimes the light on the CD but not when I refresh directory or
click on it. Though I can eject it using mouse.

How to install the Raid and fix my CD?

Any help is greatly appreciated,
Adam

Your Ethernet and Raid Controller have nothing to do with your cdrom
drive not reading cd's. If you are not using a
Raid Setup then don't worry about it. Go back into Device Manager and
rt click on your cdrom drive. Choose uninstall
and restart the computer. WinXP will reinstall it. It may be that the
drive or cd media is defective. Check below for more
