RAID controller for flash memory?

The arrival of cheap 8 GB SD cards

has me wondering if I could put a few into a RAID1 configuration for a
fast, reliable system partition?

I see some advertise sustained reads up to 20 MB/s, so with a few in
parallel the read speed could be decent.

While I don't think thet it will give you any real advantage, unless it is
ATA/SATA/SCSI flash, you will have to use software-RAID.
