Hello out there!

Have problems finding information about RAID compability
in Windows XP (Both Pro. and Home version).

Here's the deal.
Having a MSI K7T 266pro Motherboard with integrated
RAID-controler. I can not make it work under Windows XP
Home ed. Is this a problem related to Home ed. which is
solved in Pro. ed. or does it fit under the non
compability list (NCL). Searched Knowledge Base, Technet,
Google and http://www.microsoft.com/windows/catalog/
to bring light in this matter without success.

Hope that someone can bring light in this matter.
The only sollution I see if member of "NCL" to purchase
an Adaptec card and dissable the one on the motherboard.
Thanx in return for any answers that can bring light in
this matter.

/Mats

I don't know anything about your RAID problem.
But I'm using onboard RAID1 on an Asus board in XP without any problem.

Did you install a special Windows XP RAID driver downloaded from MSI?

Maybe you should post in an MSI specific newsgroup like
alt.com.periphs.mainboard.msi-microstar.

A PCI RAID card is a good option, Adaptec is not the only brand.
I'm using a Promise FastTRAK TX2000 for RAID1 on an old MSI K7T Turbo2
in one of my computers.

You need to make sure that you are using the proper driver for the card,
either specified via F6 on boot or installed afterwards using Hardware
Wizard.

I do think I'm using the apropriated driver but I'll
check the Newsgroup that you gave me tip on. Thax in
return
