Group,
Has anyone seen any utilities out there to monitor the health
of a Raid 5 array while still in windows?Sure you can boot
to the adaptec mgmnt. console and check, but I'd like to see
how things are going while in windows.I had a drive failure
this morning, that I could of checked on from home through
TS and went in earlier to correct it.,Adysthemic

What model RAID card do you have? I would think that it would have
come with some sort of monitoring software, like Adaptec Storage Manager.

Adaptec Hardware RAID 5 3210s.I'll take a look at Storage Manager.I just
read about DiskAlert, but it looks like
it has been discontinued. The article sounded good, but not showing up on the
makers site isn't very trust inspiring.

Looks like Storage Manager is available for it for just about everything
but Win2k3 server

Unless in my haste,I misunderstood,Storage Mgr is not quite
what I am looking for.I would like a windows app that duplicates "hit ctrl
a" at boot to see the condition of the drive array. You see each disk as
optimal or impacted.Another
stupid question here,if it is called a "hotswapable" drive array
and you have to take the system offline to rebuild the array, what good is
"hotswap" anyhoo am I just missing something? Can I put a fourth drive in the
array to "auto" rebuild with no down time?,tnx,Adysthemic

In your testing of Storage manager, what feature did you find to be missing?
