Dear Collective,

I have a P4 system running on a SOYO P4I875P DRAGON 2 (Platinum Edition)
using a single Maxtor 200GB SATA drive and WinXP-Pro..
I was wondering, if I were to add a second Maxtor drive of the same type and
size with the intent of running them in a RAID-0 configuration, must I
reformat my first drive and bring the two up together, thereby loosing
everything on my first drive or is there some utility that will stripe the
first drive onto the second?

Second question, my 200GB drive is now split into 2 partitions. Does
WinXP-Pro have a tool to merge these parttitions?

Thanks,

Jeff

You need a 3rd drive and Norton's Ghost or PowerQuest's Drive Image software

It depends on the RAID Chipset check the SOYO website if it has raid
onboard. Most RAID cards will allow you to Migrate to a RAID setup w/o
reinstalling & such. And noyou cannot combine partitions in XP but other
programs will allow this.
