Radeon9600SE working with ABIT BH6 board?

I have a ABIT BH6 board with Intel 440bx chipset and Celeron 633, 256 RAM.
I want to buy a video card that can work best with my setup. Nothing more
powerful then what my setup can work with, if you understand what I mean?
People have suggested me GeCube Radeon9600SE 128MB 64bit card. What do you
think would be best for me if I don't want to buy anything more powerful
then what my motherboard and processor couldn't process anyway? Should I go
for SE models because something better would be waste of money for my
CPU/motherboard or not?

And do you think that my setup can use 128bit (Video Output Data Width) card
better then 64bit card having in mind limitations of my motherboard and
processor?

P.S.: Does anyone knows a web site, forum or previous thread that deals with
this exact problem of choosing the right graphic card for the right
motherboard/CPU/RAM and so on? Thanks.

I also have a few ABit 440BX mobos, including a BH6 rev 1.0 and BE6-II
that I'm running now. The AGP slot is 3.3v ONLY, you'd have to make
sure that the vid card will work with AGP2 standard 3.3v in 2x/4x. It
cannot do 1.5v

Are you sure that I can't install 1.5v VGA card on BH6? It's a new card on
the old board, and the card is using the power (1.5v) not the other way
around - example: old card (3.3v) on the new board that can only provide
1.5v. That could be the problem! But not 1.5v card on BH6's 3.3v. Am I right
or not? Doesn't that make sense?
 
NO! The BH6 can only provide 3.3V AGP voltage, which WILL FRY a card
expecting 1.5V. (plus the AGP-slot itself is a little different, AGPv2 card
won't even fit into AGPv1 slot).

Current ATI cards that support 3.3V are: 9700, 9200, 9000, 7500 and 7000.
Choose from these. 9200 (Pro) might be a good one for you.

9600 and 9800 DO NOT, they will not fit you AGPv1 board.

Unfortunately the ATI-website doesn't say the supported voltages for 9500
Pro (it does say so for the cards I already listed). But it does say AGP
2x/4x/8x compatible, which propably does mean it will work in AGPv1 boards
(for example 9600 is said to be only 4x/8x compatible in addition to
supported voltages being only 1.5/0.8V).

If so, the card would be a good performer, right up there with 9600/9600
Pro. If you can find one...It's a discontinued product.

SOME vid cards can be set via a jumper to run at 1.5v or 3.3v. These
newer cards are 1.5v only, and newer mobos are 1.5v only. AGP4X in some
cases can be either, as in the case of 2X4X cards. Those will work on
the AGP2.0 standard 4X, which is 3.3v

If you are even able to put a 1.5v only card into a 3.3v only AGP slot,
you will likely burn both vid card and motherboard.

If it says AGP 2X4X8X it might. I'd read the manuals tech specs which
can be downloaded from ATI first though, to be sure. ALL of the BX440
motherboards I know of have only a AGP v2.0 slot, which is 1X2X4X at
3.3v
All the newer chipsets and motherboards use the AGP3.0 standard which
supports only 1.5v

You said it right, need to read up on the cards specs to see for sure it
will run in 3.3v
