Radeon X 600 using switch makes computer crash

Hi,

I have installed a Radeon X600 (ATI support) with my Xp os.
I have two screen connected to the computer. To change screens I use a
switch. When I switch from one screen to the other my computer hangs and
the screen is black.

Any idea why this happens?

I'd say that the graphics card doesn't like the switch.
