Radeon card reboots w2k pro

This is a huge issue for me. I did an uninstall of the
NVIDIA GEFORCE 256 AGP card that was in this PC by way of
the uninstall button on the display adapter tab. PC was
shut down and new card (Radeon (9000 AGP)was put in. Now,
the PC gets as far as the W2K splash screen, and reboots.
I have tried all safe modes. I also tried putting the old
card back in but I get the same problem. Any help would
be greatly appreciated!!

boot to safe mode, start/control panel/add-remove hardware....that is where
you remove components.......always remove components this way (uninstall)
