Will the RADEON 9800 Pro pre-installed in a Dell Dimension 8300 work as a
video capture port for Windows Movie Maker? When ever I try to capture
anything Windows Movie Maker 2.1 responds with "Unknown Error Encountered."
XP SP2 installed and latest ATI drivers and software.

D-a-n_L,

The short answer is yes, it should work. 1st, you need to make sure the
TV tuner is not running, or any other video players. Run Movie Maker, select
the ATI card as your capture device, and take it from there. Follow the setup
for the device you want. I have both the ATI All-in-Wonder 9600 and the 9600
PRO and they work fine for this and other video editing programs. Keep in
mind that there are 3 inputs on this card, Composite, TV, and S-Video. Make
sure you have selected the proper input prior to starting MM2.
