I'm getting absolutely no signal. No boot.
A buddy tried the card in his system, the card is good.
I bought a good 520 watt PSU, even though my old Enermax 350 should have
been enough.
I've messed with all the BIOS settings except AGP driving control. Don't
know what it is, so I haven't messed with it. It's set to AUTO right now.
The card IS plugged in.... It's seated good. I even clipped the ends off the
little flippy clips on my DIMM slots thinking maybe the RAM sinks on the
card were hitting them and popping my RAM loose.
I pop my old 8500 back in and everything's fine.
WTF?
This computer is built into a suitcase for LAN party's and the VGA port is
inaccesible, so I'm using the DVI-VGA adapter, but that shouldn't be a
problem. Same way with the 8500, no problems there.
What is AGP Driving Control and could that be the problem?
Anybody else running this combo?
Any ideas?

Big guess (don't have one of these cards myself)...

Is there a HDD power connector on the board? Did you connect anything to it?

Did you try clearing the BIOS with the battery jumper?

Is the system currently OC'd? If you OC the FSB on that board, it also OC's
the AGP (and PCI) bus. Make sure you do NOT have the mob OC'd, in fact, set
the BIOS back to BIOS defaults, and if that doesn't work, Setup defaults.
I've seen way too many people have a completely stable system, run for
months, then do a major hardware upgrade, and NOT change the BIOS back to
defaults. Never *assume* the BIOS settings for hardware config "A" will
work for hardware config "B"! That's a no-no, set everything BACK to square
one, add the hardware, and move forward again.

Btw, these more recent video cards are much more demanding than those only a
few years ago, some even require an additional power line. A new, bigger
power supply is only going to help *if* the old one couldn't deliver on the
necessary 1.5v. But if the old PSU *was* capable, a newer, bigger PSU isn't
going to accomplish anything, 1.5v is still 1.5v. IOW, if the mobo supports
it (don't recall if the KT7A does), increase the AGP voltage a little.

In the manual they say no signal or current to the card equale no
signal out put the the monitor...

a little hint here connect your card with the power cord of your
cd-rom and then conect your cd-rom witn the spare conector of your
Video card it work fine for me so it will for you. i guess.

Noozer:
You mean the 4 pin molex connector, right? Yeah, it's plugged in. That's the
same one Dream Maker is talking about. I tried using the splitter that came
with the card and on a line by itself, straight off the PSU.
Jim:
I do normally run the system OC'd, 1 GHz AXIA OC'd to 1.4. I THINK I tried
clearing the BIOS on one of my attempts, which would have unOC'd it....
Can't remember for sure. Just got in from the titty bar, kinda drunk.
I'll try it tomorrow.
Thanks guys.
I'm drunk, broke, my girlfriend's passed out, and my bike is filthy.
I'm going to bed....

FYI. I have a Abit KT7-RAID (non A) and ATI All-In-Wonder 9600xt. I
contacted Abit and Ati, but no luck in their suggestions. I tried various
BIOS settings, new 420W power supply, no hardware installed except video
card and memory, with some memory removed, replaced with a second AIW
9600xt, etc. I researched the newsgroups for days and read all the
possibilities. In my situation once the card is detected, you can not turn
off the pc. After turning off the pc, the card will fail to be re-
detected. At which point, you will need countless attempts of restarting
pc to get the video card seen again.

My end result is that these 2 items are not compatible. You can lose
countless nights trying to get it to work. Others already warned me that
they attempted in vain and wished me good luck.

I replaced my motherboard with Syntax SV266A (non D). It does not have
RAID so I used the free ATA100 controller (Ultra100TX2) card from my
Western Digital hard drive to give me additional IDE ports. Prior to
replacing the motherboard, I set XP pro to start in safemode. I dropped in
case and booted up fine. I did not need to reload os. I just needed to
reload ATI video driver.

How is Syntax SV266A (non D) motherboard?

Pros:

1. 100/133 FSB
2. ATA100
3. USB 2.0 (4 ports)
4. integrated 10/100 NIC
5. integrated audio
6. Can use DDR SDRAM and SDRAM, but not both at the same time
7. $30 shipped (Price watch). I got mine for $40 shipped, but I received
it in 2 business days (accupc).
8. ATI All-In-Wonder 9600xt works in it. Now, I can sleep.

Cons:
1. only 2 fan connectors
2. Power LED connector on motherboard is 2 pin (2 wire). Power LED on case
is 3 pin (2 wire), but that it easily fixed by moving wire to the middle of
the 3 pin connector.
3. CPU is autodetect (Not overclock friendly)
4. Layout could be better. Audio in is next to AGP socket. You need to
hop the audio cable from CD/DVD over the videocard.

BTW. Good luck.

No need in doing that anymore. New ATA33 and above drives use Digital
extraction of audio through IDE, much better and faster method. No use of
extra cable!

I never knew that. Thanks for the info.
