I recently purchased this card and i'm experiencing a problem after a
cold soak (Computer off for many hours) When i boot, i get what i
believe is 2 short, 4 long beep codes with no display. This problem is
corrected by pressing the reset button on the computer, and i don't
see this problem again until i boot the machine cold. (Usually after
being off all night) I'm running an MSI KT4V main board with AMI bios.
When i checked for beep codes for this bios it doesn't have a listing
for 2 short 4 long. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

PS: I tried reseating the card for lack of anything else.

I suspect your power supply.I read where a similar problem was caused by
having hard drive and video card power on same cable and was fixed when
different power cable was plugged into video card. See if MSI has newer BIOS
for your motherboard.

Yep, it's power. Your video card is not initializing because it is not
getting the power it needs on bootup. The beeps are for "no video adapter
present". Timing is everything and when the power supply is cold it may not
be providing the voltage required when the video card needs it. Similar
problems occur when hard drives don't get the power they need and you get no
boot disk present messages. Try Kent's suggestion and if that doesnt work,
get a new power supply.

Thanks Kent,

I have a really cheap 400w PSU that came in the tower i purchased
when i built the computer. I always meant to upgrade it, now i think i
will. Thanks again.
