Hi,
I have some noise issues with my SB Audigy card and they began when I
upgraded my GeForce to a ProColor Radeon 9700 AIW. Every now and then
I get loud pops and crackle from my speakers. Not for very long but
very annoying.
Since I can actually record the noise with a sound recorder on my
machine, I have concluded that the problem originates from the
soundcard (and not from the speakers or amplifier).
Has anybody had similar problems? If so, what have you done to solve
them?
My system:
Gigabyte GA-7VAXP Mainboard
AMD Ahtlon XP 2400+ CPU
768 MB RAM
Soundblaster Audigy
ProColor Radeon PRO 9700 AIW
Adaptec 2930U2 SCSI Controller
Adaptec 1200A ATA-RAID Controller
D-Link DFE-550TX Ethernet
I have recently installed a new PSU (480W), which seems to have
alleviated the problem a bit actually. Now I get the noise only once
every 90 mins or so, instead of once every 10 minutes. But it is still
there.
The onboard sound chip is deactivated as is its driver. I have the
latest driver for the sound card and the graphics board and I can't
think of anything else at the moment.
Any ideas? TIA.
Stefan
