Because it doesn't support type 2 pixel shading.
I upgraded to a 9550 and everything works fine.

I had RC1 installed when i had my Radeon 9200 128MB video card and everything
was working fine. Now i purchased the X1600 512MB and when it boots up i get
the Blue Screen of Death with a Stop error 0xEA. I even tried to reinstall
it. But still got the BSOD. I tried to install RC2, and the same thing.

It doesn't support the type 2 pixel shading for one. I had an ATI 9200SE which also does not support Aero. Like Peter says upgrade the card to a 9550 with 256MB RAM and you should be fine with Aero. My 9550 with 256MB works fine
