I have been waiting for a post about the availability of 9800 np cards. NE
doesn't list it anymore nor does Allstarshop. There are a couple of sites
around that have them but it is getting harder and harder to find them. Is
it "good card, easy to o/c, taking away from our 'pro' sales?" Haven't seen
mention about this and I wanted to see if anyone knows why they suddenly did
a disappearing act at major retailers. I thought: ATI has a really good
product, consumers are judging it, and the verdict is in--it's too good, so
discontinue it? If it were my choice as a stockholder, I'd say keep pumping
it out and let the money roll in. Am I missing something?

It appears it can be had directly from ATI, online for $299USD. PCWonder
has the Sapphire version for $269USD. bananapc is backordered on it
(Sapphire version), at $235USD. But, it says 'due in'.

Thanks. I'm not sure ATI ever made the non pro version. The quick
disappearance of it is of interest to me. Would you know why ATI/Sapphire
pulled this card? Or seemed to do so?

hehe I don't think they pulled it just ran out of stock hehe. Happens when a
part is popular. Also possible that future builds of the card may use
cheaper mem or something tho to help bring real pro sales up a bit but who
knows. Just glad I got mine when I did hehe.

ATI does make a non-Pro retail card. I got one for $270 from Best Buy.
