Could someone please tell me whether the above uses waterproof inks? I know
the DuraBrite inks (used in the 'C' series) were, but what about
UltraChrome? I'm looking for a back-up unit, and one of the stipulations is
that prints *MUST* be water-resistant at the very least.

Thanks

Printer £248.99 or so . It doesn't get more waterproof as the R800 uses
pigmented inks. The complete set for Epson inks is £99.62, JetTec 8 pack
"Lightfast pigmented" £45.00. The resin Gloss optimiser coats over the 1.5
picolitre drop size andcan be turned on/off. Current customer feedback is
all euphoric with the best prints they have ever seen. Fairly naturally
you'll use more gloss cartridges if you seal all prints.

Just curious,
did you solve your printer problem on the trailing edge? If so, please
explain....

Yes and no. Had to use the envelope setting which pissed me off mightily as
that meant I couldn't full bleed. Got 600 more of the damned things to do
for the first, so we'll see how it goes. Not to mention 600 cards and 100
packs of notelets for a church Christmas bazaar/fete. That's why I've
ordered the R800 to try and spread the workload. Best of Canon/best of Epson
is the thinking behind it. We'll have to see.

They're a client just like any other. I don't work for the 'church' - I'm
employed by the church committee. I'm not xian - never have been and, touch
wood, never will be. Someone asks me to do a job and I do it. Simple as
that.
