J J Cale a wonderful blues musician passed away on the July 26th, may he rest in peace.

One of his finest songs as performed with Eric Clapton on fabulous Crossroads DVD.

Cocaine was popularized by Eric Clapton but the original was done by J J Cale

encore!

... it's amazing what music you can miss until, sadly, they pass on. :(

RIP!

I have to agree with you Mucks. Great sounds from a musician I'd not been aware of before. I'll certainly be looking for more of his music. RIP Mr Cale.

His death made me very sad indeed, I liked JJ Cale a great deal.

Working away from home up north in the late seventies his 'Troubadour' album was amongst those that provided the soundtrack for my many long car journeys.

The fairly recent LP he made with Eric Clapton 'The Road to Escondido' is, imo, very good.

RIP John, I'll miss you.
