The paperwork that came with my PC (Windows) says I have a +R +RW CD drive.
I just noticed that for the last year I have been using blank -R CDs
apparently with no problems. What's up? Is there no difference or have I
just been lucky? Or maybe I have a -R drive. Is there a way to check without
taking the machine apart?

Do you mean DVDs or CDs? All CDs are -R, the +R/+RW is probably referring
to the type of DVD it can burn, as there are -R and +R dvds available.

If you check the model number/name in device manager, you can whack this
into google and find out more info on your drive.

Thanks. That's the answer. It was referring to the DVDs -- which I've never
burned.
