Free Product Zaps New and Unknown Viruses

Even users with well protected PCs are vulnerable to new viruses and worms
during the critical time slot between the first appearance of the virus
and the time it takes for AV vendors to update their signature database. A
number of companies offer claimed solutions: one is PivX who markets a
product called Qwik-Fix Pro. This works by providing a degree of generic
protection combined with defenses against potential exploits the company
has identified from its own research. I have no way of testing such a
product but the idea is sound - just think of all those known but yet
unpatched Internet Explorer bugs. Others clearly agree - the company
certainly has some heavyweight customers.
The good news is that a home PC edition is available and it's free until
the end of October.
Registration required, 1.26MB.

The good news is that a home PC edition is available and it's free until
the end of October AT WHICH TIME THE USER WILL NEED TO BEGIN PAYING FOR IT
IN ORDER TO AVOID ALLOWING IT TO LAPSE INTO NONFUNCTIONALITY. (THEY CALL
THAT "GOOD NEWS"?) DON'T BE DECEIVED. THIS IS *NOT* FREEWARE BEYOND THE END
OF THIS MONTH.

SYSYPHUS' SISTER

The product and company is a scam, its a couple kids with no money or finance
who basically took 4 or even 5 free registry entries from Microsoft's Knowledge
Base, made a shitty graphical user interface around it and stuck in open source
xml up dating mechanisim and now are trying to sell it like its a marvel security
products. These kids are losers with no history in security at all, they surrounded
themselves with impressive sounding titles and adults to create the illusion
of a company. Even their public company was achieved in dubious methods and
now floating their stock and hype to generate wealth. Problem is it is a non-
product and the security market laughs at them They want you to download it
and install it, then they can show their shareholders how many customers have
but they are so deep in debt, doubtful the company will be around next year.
Check the database on the prog it is all covered by Microsoft patches which
are free and whatever remains can be achieved also for free from any entry
in Microsoft Knowledge Base. Once you install it they'll try to force you
to pay for it by saying that they can deactivate it remotely from their upgrade
mechansim. This to try to force sales.

Really it is junk not worth $50 dollars when you can get real security company
products like AntiVirus which can detect new threats quicker than these losers
(they're basically also only updating their toy when a threat is revealed).

Don't be fooled and don't waste your money.
