Hi,

I'm running windows 2000 adv server and have enforced
quotas on a volume.

All functionality is working fine (Disk space is limited
etc...) except that user do not get a warning when they
reach the warning threshold.

Any help would be great

On the computer(s) in question...

Click...
Start
Settings
Control Panel
Administrative Tools
Services

Is the "Alerter" service "Started" ?
Is the "Messenger" service "Started" ?

If not, double click each service and select
"Automatic" as the startup type.

Double check your Quota settings for the hard drive(s).
When the amount in "Set warning level to" is reached, a
message should be issued.
It can also be recorded in the Event Log.

Hi Austin,

Thanks for the reply - It was a good thought but all of
those three things are set correctly....Any other ideas?

Please post all your settings from the volume's "Quota"
tab.

I have the following:
(o) Enable quota...
(o) Deny disk space...
Limit Disk space to 225 GB
Set warning level to 220 GB
(o) Log event...
(o) Log event...

If "Deny disk space to users exceeding quota limit" is
checked, they should receive an "Insufficient Disk Space"
error upon reaching the limit.

When you enable disk quotas for a drive/volume, usage is
automatically tracked for new users from that point on.
Existing volume users DO NOT have disk quotas applied to
them. To apply disk quotas to existing volume users; add
new quota entries via the "Quota Entries" button.
