Quite Weird OE Problem

I wanted to delete some posts on the General forum, but had never tried this
before. I right-clicked on a post, but the options did not include Delete.

Then, I absentmindedly tried it again later. Delete came up!
In a haze, I clicked Delete, and a message came up:
Do you want to permanently delete these files?
Due to low blood sugar or something, I said YES.

Well, not only did that one post disappear, but everything from that point
forward did too...And, no more posts came up. Restarted computer, same
thing. Suddenly, I go to look: they are back!

What is going on?
More importantly, how does one DELETE a post or thread?
I truly believe I have checked every square centimeter of Outlook, and still
have no clue about this.

Thank you.

you can't delete newsgroup posts but you can enable a different view of them
so that you don't always have to see the old posts. click view-current view
and check hide read messages.

Thank you.

Not sure what you were doing there? You can delete a newsgroup message, but
it will only be deleted from your local store folder and not from the server
where it was posted. The delete option is in the Edit menu. This will delete
any selected messages.

funny...I deleted your message, exited outlook and reopened said program and
there was you post again.

This is in response to naddame who said that a deleted post came back after reopening OE newsreader.

I just deleted your post by using the Delete key, said "yes" to the dialouge box, and your post is gone. It is still gone after reopening OE newsreader.

mrtee,
strange...seems that the originator and I are experiencing the same thing
and others are not. wonder what the difference is, oh well as long as I
still can hide already read postings then I don't really care all that much.
but, you still gotta wonder

Thanks. I now realize that the delete I successfully did before was not done
with the right-click, but with the delete key. But the other weirdness made
me forget what I had done, and I was starving, too. Now I can delete at
will. Apparently, it was a bit "too simple." The popup about "messages" was
disturbing as well, since I was only trying to delete one of them.

Do you have SP 1 or 1a applied? Delete was not easily accomplished before
the SP1/1a fix. Delete is only available by pressing the "delete" key, from
Edit, or CTRL+D, it doesn't show up in a right click menu.
