Here's what I did to get it working...in the below, D:\Quintessential
Player is where I installed Quintessential Player to:

1.) Installed QCD Player (duh!).

2.) Installed "Winamp Input plug-ins Manager 1.0" from
http://www.quinnware.com/list_plugins.php?plugin=88

3.) Choose not to run Quintessential Player yet.

4.) Went to D:\Quintessential Player\Plugins.

5.) Created a directory called wa_plugins

6.) Installed the Tara plugin for Winamp from
http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=22143 . I installed it
to C:\Program Files\Winamp.

7.) Once the install of Tara for Winamp completed, I went to
C:\Program Files\Winamp and copied tara.ini and tara.bmp to
D:\Quintessential Player.

8.) I went to the C:\Program Files\Winamp\plugins, and copied
in_tara.dll and in_tara.txt to D:\Quintessential
Player\plugins\wa_plugins.

9.) From there, started up QCD Player and went to the Plugin browser.
Under the "Types", I chose Input, and then chose "Winamp Input plug-
ins Manager 1.0", and then chose "Configure".

10.) Tara was listed, so I closed out of that window, and opened a
RealAudio file, and it worked fine.

It should be pointed out that you need to have the Real Player codecs
installed for the Tara plugin to work. You can get that either by
installing Real Player, installing Real Alternative, or possibly
installing jetAudio. It should also be noted that using this method
will allow you to play Real Media files through QCD Player, but won't
allow you to use the Spinamp plugin for QCD Player.

Yep - I have done all that and with the testvideotest in realplayer's
directory, it starts then crashes once the screen is open. The same
thing happens with streaming video. You didn't tweak any settings in
the Winamp-plugin config did you?

Nope...I didn't make any changes or anything at all. I did choose the
option to configure Tara, but that was just to make sure that the
Winamp Input plug-ins Manager was recognizing it correctly. I should
point out, though, that I only tried it with an audio stream, no
video.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. If all else fails, maybe try
asking in the QCD forums (if you haven't already).
