Quiet cpu fan recommendation?

Hi...just installed a new AMD Athlon 3800 cpu inclusive of fan (fan make =
AVC- cant see a model no)...its pretty noisy...any recommendations for a
good quiet alternative fan?

i have a very noisy athlon 2 ghz cpu fan, how can i make quiter?

If it has sleeve bearing, lube it. If sleeve + ball or
entirely ball bearing, replace it.

If a new fan without any bearing wear, it may be too high an
RPM and needs a fan controller or replaced with lower RPM
fan. If you use a lower RPM fan but same size or smaller,
you may have worse performance from the heatsink so it is
possible that would need replaced too (depending on the
result, we can't know since you haven't described the system
or room temps, chassis cooling, etc).
