"Quiet clink" sound after almost every action.

Running OL2003 under WinXP Home SP3.

I was playing with sounds recently. Now I get a little clink sound after
practically every action in OL. I would like to shut it off, but I don't
know how. Any help?

I was in Control Panel, and I didn't do very much. If I could remember what
I did, I would have tried undoing it (I can't remember what I had for
breakfast this morning!) I may have changed something in OL as well. I was
just hoping that my limited description of the symptom would give you a clue
as to what parameter would be related. FWIW, the sound could be described
as a hiss followed by a dull tap, and it seems to occur after practically
every definite action I take in OL.

What did you "play" with and did you try undoing whatever you did? Did you
add sounds for many events in Control panel, sounds?

Sorry! I just discovered that the solution I found for my problem didn't
get posted.
