I am using Windows Vista Business...

Every time I start Quicktime Player (the latest version 7.1.5) I get
the initial quicktime window which says "Loading..." then
"Switching..." at which point the window simply disappears.

This is the version that is "supposedly" Vista capable. I've trolled
the net and can't find anyone suffering these symptoms.

Anyone else? Have you found a fix?

If you had an older version of Quicktime, did you uninstall it first? If
not, uninstall and then reinstall. If this isn't applicable, then:

I was looking at the Quicktime download site a few mins ago & Vista isn't
listed as a supported OS.
There is a link to provide feedback if you are running it on Vista tho.

I installed Media Player Classic, as this allowed me to play .mov files that
windows media player doesn't. This is a simpler, less "snoopy", programme
that performs some of the quicktime functions.
