I've downloaded Quicktime 7 but am not having any luck with viewing any
of the movies or trailers. Dell just refreshed my computer by proxy so
I'm wondering if I need to do anything with the settings. Any
suggestions? Thanks!

Quicktime and Dell are third-party products/vendors.
If your quicktime was installed correctly - you should have no trouble
viewing quicktime encoded videos in it.

My suggestion...

Uninstall quicktime.
Reboot.
Download the full stand-alone installer for quicktime and reinstall.
(Visit http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html and get QuickTime
7.1.3 for Windows 2000/XP - uncheck the three boxes and click on "Free
Download Now" and select to SAVE that download elsewhere. That will give
you the full installer.)
