Quicktime picture viewer is virus like nightmare

I hope someone can help me delete all traces of the quicktime picture viewer and RESTORE my pix to jpegs that will open with the default program i have selected. (MS Picture and fax viewer) The quictime garbage was piggybacked on a trial program - i think XARA - and has installed itself in a very virus like manner, is not listed in the program files, converted all pictures to its format and overrides my default selection. It is driving me crazy! I never had any use for the Apple gang, but now I despise them. My business is pictures! and now this garbage has created the worst nightmare! It is on my Server (2000) also! PLEASE HELP! Is there a script I can run to fix this?

QT does not change any file format, but it can become the viewer that
opens any of the many file types that it handles. Look for a QT applet in
Control Panel. Click the arrow to the right of the window and choose
File Type Associations. UNcheck all boxes.

If QT is opening files in the browser that you want another app. to
handle, click the arrow again and choose BROWSER PLUG-INS, then click the
MIMETYPE box. Expand the various branches by clicking on the + signs and
UNcheck any files types that you do not want QT to handle.
