Probably a letter exchanger, that inserts a "n" for an a, an "o" for a
b, a "p" for a c, and so on. This method of slight "encoding" is called
ROT13, and only used to hide some text from direct view, which can still
easily be read. It is often used in usenet postings, for tongue-in-cheek
remarks.

There are ROT 'anything' encoders about also, which are a bit more fun.

I had a rot anything program but it won't work on WinXP (even in
compatibility mode) :-( Do you have a link where I may find one?

Dunno if they work on XP, but here are two:

Encoder. 18.5 kb standalone exe file is a wonderful endoder with loads
of encoding options inc ROT n

Highly recommended.

And I appear to have a ROT n app called massiverot ( filename: mrot.exe)
which is a 32 kb standalone which I cannot find on the web. I could put
it somewhere if you want to have a look. (abf?)
Derek's app is much better.
