I'm having problems backing up to CD-R/RW using Quicken.
The Quicken web site "Help" page contains this:
"Place a CD-R or CD-RW that you have already
formatted for read and write access in the CD-ROM drive.
After formatting, you should be able to read and write
the CD through the drive letter associated with it."

I'm not aware of "formatting a CD-R/RW" disc.
Can someone explain this?

Thank you in advance !!

I think you need a peace of software called Direct CD.
This usually comed with EZ CD creator.
Direct CD has the ability to format CD-s.

Hi AlanB,

You need to install a packet-writing software like DirectCD from
www.roxio.com or InCD from Nero (free download from www.ahead.de). Once
installed, you should be able to backup the Quicken data directly to CD
media.

Peace be with you too! But your answer is correct and I can verify
that it works. I keep a DirectCD formatted CDRW in my CD Burner and
regularly backup all my data to it, including a number of Quicken
files, but not including my videos - they are too big.
