Hello I need a quick explanation from opennetcf for thesis.

It's something about MVP's (most valuable proffesionals) what is
function definition of MVP?

Opennetcf it function's as a beta for compact (because the new stuff is
experimented/implemented)

it's an addition to compact framework for sure.

Somebody who could write +/- 5-10 lines about this?

More on the MVP program:

OpenNETCF does not serve as an official "beta" program for everything. It
just happens that we can see a market need and fill it much faster than
Microsoft because we don't have a large organization with lots of test and
release rules (that's got positives and negatives). We simply provide what
we think will make development easier for CF developers and in a way that
will stay true to the .NET paradigm - trying to align with the desktop when
appropriate.

Of course we have good friends on the CF team who are invaluable to our
strategy, and we work closely with them to tell them what we do and do not
like. In fact it's unlikely anyone inside Microsoft has ever looked at our
code because MS doesn't like there to be any possibility of non-MS code
getting into their code base.

So what is it (everything Chris' says is right-on, of course):

OpenNETCF Smart Device Framework is a class library designed to be used to
simplify the development of highly-functional applications running on
Windows CE-based platforms. It is an open-source project supported by a
team of volunteers who perceive a need for new functions, new capabilities,
support for new functions in the operating system, or bug fixes, and
implement suitable code to meet those needs. The Smart Device Framework
does not replace the .NET Compact Framework from Microsoft, but builds upon
it to add important functions not implemented by Microsoft, creating a
super-framework which can grow and adapt over time to the demands of
application development on smart devices.

Make sure that you understand the following: OpenNETCF is the organization;
Smart Device Framework (SDF), is *one* software product of the organization.
I think that this should be clear from the Web site.
