quick time plug in

hi everyone
my first time here.
i have a problem with quick time. if i try to run anything that needs it.
first it tells me to install quick time. i have done this many times &
uninstall it also. when its done downloading it says " quicktime plug in did
not initialize properly. what is the problem? i am so frustrated.
please help

thank you for ur reply. But yes I am aware of this. When I purchased my
brand new computer from Best Buy, Quick Time was installed already.
