Quick Search has started to crash the browser

I've been using Quick Search Power Tweak to search from the address bar
for ages. It's an IE5 add-on but so far it's worked fine on IE6.
Now, out of the blue, the browser crashes and closes whenever I try it.
If I submit the problem to Microsoft I get instructions as to how to
remove the add-on.
Anyone know anything?

In the first instance refer your problem back to the publisher. They should
be aware of all issues with their product and IE.

I did a search for the Quick Search Power Tweak but could only find a dead
link to IE5 Powertoys so I am not sure if there are issues with using this
tool with IEv6
but I have had a similar problem with the Google and ICQ/Google toolbars
which were hijacking the IE URLSearchHooks value.(Have you recently added
toolbars or downloaded other software?)

The fix is a bit complicated as it requires a good knowledge of the
registry, I am not sure if even removing the toolbar will fix the problem as
it may not replace the URLSearchHooks to its original value

Here is what the registry value should look like

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\URLSearchHooks
{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497}
